Our Projects

For the children of Aruba

Kiwanis Club of Palm Beach manages or participate in a number of activities throughout the year that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide.  We engage in a number of social activities to share experiences, talents and our collective interests. All represent great opportunities for service, friendships and personal growth. Below is just a small sample of some of the initiatives we have engaged recently:

"Invest In Me" Financial Literacy Program

The "Invest In Me" Financial Literacy Program is a comprehensive initiative designed to provide children aged 10 to 11 with essential financial education and skills.

Through interactive and engaging learning experiences, we aim to empower our young participants with the knowledge and confidence to make informed financial decisions, set goals, and plan for a financially secure future.

We believe that by instilling financial literacy from a young age, we can equip our children with the tools they need to make informed and smarter decisions about money throughout their lives.

Neptali Henriquez Park Support

Kiwanis Club of Palm Beach believes in the need to identify projects that will create a long term commitment and have a significant impact within our community. By doing this, KCPB can also direct some of the funds raised through the different fund raising activities in our community towards a “signature” tangible project.

For this reason together with some members of the Board of a park on the Oranjestad area, we starting deliberating how we can improve the park and came up with the idea to put a new playground with a “Pirate Ship” theme as the location of the park is close to our beaches. The Total cost of the project was around Awg 110,000 and was ordered and installed in about 10 months.

Kiwanis Club of Palm Beach is planned to continue with these types of projects in different neighborhoods around our Island in order to provide our children with playground to promote healthy activities in their neighborhoods. And we continue our commitment to support Neptali Henriquez Park.

Child Seat

An ongoing project for Kiwanis Club of Palm Beach, the project aims to raise awareness among parents to use the proper child seat for their children. The campaign involves both a marketing and PR campaign directed to incentivize the use of the child seat, as well as child seat giveaways.

It also focuses on sharing educational material regarding the use of child seats. Our club has also put in effort to lobby the local authorities to strengthen regulations and the enforcement of current laws directing the use of proper seat devices for children in vehicles.

This is an ongoing campaign which results have been extremely promising in terms of adoption of proper practices within the population, and Kiwanis Club of Palm Beach intends to continue its implementation as long as it is necessary.

Hands-on projects

Kiwanis Club of Palm Beach continually engages in a wide variety of hands-on projects geared to a wide range of institutions, from schools, places like the Donkey Sanctuary, all the way to public areas for the use of children, such as the revitalization of the sport fields by Colegio Arubano, part of our "K One Day".

We also actively participate in social activities and events where activism is call for, such as the annual "Aruba Doet", where the general population is incentivized to participate in a variety of social projects.

Back to School

Kiwanis Club of Palm Beach, for children in need, will arrange for them all the items they need to start the year equipped with all essential items so their school year is successful.

This program is coordinated with institutions that identify children that, because of socio economic circumstances, are unable to get access to school supplies by themselves. Kiwanis Club of Palm Beach then bring these children to book stores and other stores so they can be fully equipped for the upcoming school year.

Stima Mi, Guia Mi

A program created by Kiwanis Club of Palm Beach, and coordinated by Fundacion Pa Nos Muchanan, the goal of Stima Mi, Guia Mi is to educate parents of children with ages between 2 and 4 years of age.

These parents receive specialized instructions in subjects such as how to manage the relationship with the children, the importance of social and emotional development, proper discipline methods, and play as a method to stimulate development.

Interactive Learning

We believe that learning is most effective when it is enjoyable and interactive. Our program incorporates various hands-on activities, role-playing scenarios, and financial simulations that make the learning process fun and memorable.

By engaging in real-life financial scenarios, children can practice decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
